A Taste of the Geographe Region

Now in its fourth year, Geographe Crush Food & Wine Festival has built a reputation as a great day out discovering the wine and food from the region. In November, this will be expanded to include more restaurant styled foods to match the wines, an area just for kids, the Crush Lounge and a revamped chef’s challenge with head to head cooking throughout the day.

Staged in the heart of the Geographe Region at Bicentennial Square in Bunbury, the Festival showcases the fantastic growing region from Harvey in the north to Busselton in the south and encompasses the local districts of Capel, Dardanup, Donnybrook and Collie.

Geographe Wine is the central attraction with over 40 brands available from this emerging quality wine growing region, right on the doorstep of the Forrest Highway.

New Things to Try and Buy in 2010

Geographe Crush provides a fantastic day out for people heading to Bunbury on November 7. The line up is good with new and improved food outlets and fabulous wine to taste and buy. And a few new activities to keep you and your friends and family longer

Entry to the Festival

This year, individual entry will be $20 with accompanied children under the age of 18 free. Entry will include glass and access to tastings, entertainment, wine seminars, cooking and kid’s activities. Meals will be available for purchase. Take home sales of food and wine is also available.

The only place in WA where you can access the best Geographe wines in one place.

Impressive Food Stalls

Restaurants and caterers will provide an improved line up of restaurant styled food. Up to eight stands have been allocated and we already have venison burgers and antipasto plates on the menu along with other festival favourites.

Kids in the Kitchen

In a new activity this year, we have targeted kids and healthy food options. With the support of Aspenz we will be conducting 3 children’s workshops during the day and teaching them (along with parents) how to prepare and cook Gnocchi, Pizza and Frittata.

To back up our unique way of welcoming family groups, kids will also be entertained with fruit and vegetable modelling.

Beer on the Menu

We are pleased to announce that 2 local breweries will join us this year so you can enjoy a cleansing ale along with the wine and food.

Chefs Challenge

The Chefs Challenge will provide ongoing cooking demonstrations and cooking competition as local chefs and apprentices slug it out preparing their own Signature Regional Dish from the Mystery Local Produce Basket.

The Cooking Competitions will be staged at 11.15, 1.00, 2.45, 4.30

Wine Appreciation Seminars

The Geographe Vignerons Association will show and taste the award winners from the annual Geographe Wine Show.

The public will be treated as the major wine makers will be on hand to talk, swirl and sip their way through the best wines from the region.

Staged at 1.00pm and 3.00pm, the wine education and tasting sessions will be a hit.

The seminars will be held at 12.15, 1.45, 3.30

Win a Weekend at the new Mantra Bunbury Hotel

As a major sponsor of this year’s festival, Mantra Bunbury Hotel are offering a prize of a weekend for two staying at the fabulous property in the heart of Bunbury. All visitors attending will go into the draw to win.

Entertainment

Sitting back on a lazy Sunday afternoon is the theme. Acoustic covers will play through the early part of the day, with jazz as the main course. Plenty of seating will be available to friends to relax and enjoy.

Families

The event is serious about fun. Children’s activities will be on hand to keep the little ones amused.

Crush VIP Lounge Tickets

Special VIP tickets will provide an indulgent day out for both corporate guests and people who want to take a step up into the best ticket in town. People can purchase tickets to the exclusive and limited Crush VIP Lounge for just $80 per person.
